Cold Laser Therapy
Cold Laser or Low Level Light Therapy is a wonderful compliment to chiropractic care to help alleviate pain/discomfort felt from injuries and expedite the natural healing processes of the body.
From Personal Experience:
Dr. Emily used cold laser therapy while in chiropractic school and was a fan from the very beginning. Throughout school Dr. Emily played soccer and had minor injuries that she would use cold laser on in addition to chiropractic care and felt as though the laser facilitated in speeding up her recovery process. At the end of April 2015 while playing in a soccer game, Dr. Emily ruptured her Achilles tendon in her left leg. With the use of supplementation, rest, and cold laser Dr. Emily was now walking unassisted and able to do body weight workouts just 3 months later. She was told that she would most certainly have to have surgery in order to repair the ruptured tendon, but being pregnant the risk of surgery was too high and she opted to go the non-surgical route of healing. Her progress with the laser personally helped to give her the final push to go out and purchase her own laser for use in her practice. In addition to people, animals benefit greatly from cold laser use as well. The laser that Dr. Emily uses is an Erchonia Class 2 cold laser. This means that there is no heat given off during the use which prevents any chance of injury of burning tissue. Treatment time is typically 3 minutes per affected area. There are various settings that can be used for treatment which can allow for maximum healing for bones, muscles, ligaments and other soft tissue.
